Founder Sattva Jiva-Pure Living, Naturally

Founder Silver Pine Real Estate

I come from the vibrant and diverse land of India, which is rich in culture, traditions, and geography. I was born and raised in the bustling city of Bombay (Mumbai). The ancient Ayurvedic concepts & healing systems were a natural part of my upbringing. It is only in recent years, however, that my deep-rooted fascination for natural remedies and traditional Indian wellness practices evolved into a formal education, immersing myself deeply into the world of Ayurveda and yoga. I have my certification in Ayurvedic Wellness Counseling, and I will continue the journey for the next 920 hours as an Ayurvedic Practioner. I am a certified yoga teacher, teaching and practicing the various disciplines daily. My passion for India continues with regular yearly visits to explore the landscapes and cultures, especially in some of the more unconventional destinations such as remote villages and tribal communities. Over the past 13 years, by request, I custom-designed itineraries and guided small group tours highlighting the country's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, offering unique and authentic experiences.

My mission in creating Sattva Jiva-Pure Living Naturally is to provide natural solutions through practical lifestyle changes and promote and advance the consciousness-based philosophy, knowledge, and practice of Ayurveda to benefit all. Guide students in recognizing the yoga practice with a sense that anything is possible, with spontaneity yet with self-discipline, while identifying the deeper intention in the heart, perhaps health, contentment, and happiness rather than the performance of a pose or attainment of some static or predetermined goal. To help students create a sense of trust in themselves, be intuitive to their inner awareness and self-guidance in this journey. And communicate a sense of both the whole of the practice as well as the elements that give the asanas their sustainable and transformational potential.

I currently teach 12 yoga classes a week at various locations, including the VA Health Care Center. I am also active in the day-to-day business operations of Silver Pine Real Estate. My personal recreational interests are yoga, swimming, gardening, cooking, and traveling, particularly to India.

What Ayurveda does for you

What Ayurveda does for you

Ayurveda emerged from the spiritual texts of ancient India, known as the Vedas, or "Books of Wisdom," dating back to about 5000 years, and is regarded as humanity's oldest literature. It represents a system of healing that considers the physical, emotional, and spiritual nature in the context of the universe. According to the philosophy, all things in the physical world are composed of the 5 fundamental building blocks of nature called the Mahabhutas, or 5 elements – Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. Ayurveda recognizes that the universal life force manifests as 3 different energies or Doshas, known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. They are derived from the Five Elements and their related properties. Vata is composed of Space and Air, Pitta of Fire and Water, and Kapha of Earth and Water. All organic and inorganic substances are made up of unique combinations of these 3 forces.

The doshas are dynamic energies that constantly change in response to our actions, thoughts, emotions, the foods we eat, the season, and any other sensory inputs that feed our mind and body.

In essence, Ayurveda aims to help you acquire a state of balance and harmony within yourself, resulting in good health, vitality, and a sense of well-being.
